Sort debris into separate piles
Charleston County Emergency Management asks residents to separate storm debris into these categories:
- Yard debris: trees and brush.
- Building debris: construction materials, carpet and furniture.
- Bulky metal items: appliances and bikes.
- Household garbage: food and paper waste.
- Household hazardous materials: paint, solvents, cleaners, fertilizers and insecticides, separated with extreme care.
